Karachi Ruby, the New Champion! Won 11th Burhani Salgirah Trophy 2011 by 5 wickets

In lieu of the Centennial Birthday Celebrations of His Holiness Dr Syedna Mohammed BurhanuddinTUS, the 11th Burhani Salgirah Trophy Eight-a-Side Cricket Tournamnet's FINALE was played on Saturday 5th March 8:30 pm at the Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium between Karachi Ruby and Karachi Coral in the midst of the flood light.

In the seven overs' of this interesting contest, winning the toss by Ruby and gave the batting to Coral. The batsmen of Coral scored 74 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, consisting of Huzefa Yusuf's 30 runs on just 11 balls including 2 sixes and 3 fours. In reply Ruby played wonders and chased the 75 runs target in 6.4 overs. The opening batsmen skipper Baqir Sajjad (made 22 on 15 deliveries) and Adnan Moiz (scored 18 on 15 balls) gave an opening stand of 43 runs. After which batsman Nooruddin on 8 balls consisting of 1 huge six and 3 fours scored 26 runs and was declared Man of the finale.

In this 6 days' tournament a total of 7 teams took part and also on Saturday afternoon, both the semi finals were played. In the first semi final Karachi Ruby beat Karachi Emerald by 6 wickets. In the second semi final Karachi Coral beat Hyderabad Shaheen and were elected to play the finale.

After the finale a colorful closing ceremony, having fireworks was presented. Cake on the auspicious occasion of Centennial Birthday of Syedna Saheb was cut. Lucky draw was done and prizes were distributed. The chief guests Janab Shabbir Bhaisaheb Nomani President Faize Hakimi Karachi and Janab Naeem Bhaisaheb Mohiyuddin congratulated the organizers and appreciated their efforts. Janab Shabbir Bhaisaheb Nomani gave trophies to winner and 1st runners' up captain amidst of a huge round of applause. All players who performed well including man of the match of the finale Nooruddin(Karachi-Ruby), best batsman of the tournament Juzer M. Parekh Karachi-Coral (176 Runs), best bowler of the tournament Naeem Tayyab Karachi-Emerald (10 wkts), Best Wicket Keeper of the tournament Baqir Sajjad (Karachi-Ruby) & Player of the tournament Adnan Moiz Karachi-Ruby (176 runs & 5 wkts) was also given the shields and prizes. Also present were Janab Tahir Bhasaheb Vaziri, Janab Hozefa Bhaisaheb, Mulla Mustafa Sheikh Tahir Bhai Rasheed, Shaikh Saifuddin Nooruddin Petiwala, Shaikh Shabbar Jamali and other Shabab Central Committee members, dignitaries, esteemed sponsors and cricket lovers were present in large numbers.
