SHABAB – TAYYEBI WON THE FINAL OF 7th BURHANI SALGIRAH TROPHY 2007

In accordance with tradition, Shababul Eidiz Zahabi – Ibrahim (Noor) Mohallah had organized 7th Burhani Salgirah Trophy Cricket Tournament on the auspicious occasion 96th Salgirah Mubarak of their beloved spiritual head Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb(T.U.S.). The final match was played between;Shabab-Tayyebi  & Shabab-Taheri.
on Tuesday, 5th February, 2008 at The Aga Khan Gymkhan Cricket Ground, Karachi. Shabab-Tayyebi batted first, completing 25 overs, scoring 183 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Shabbir Fakhruddin scored 66 runs and stood out eminently. From Taheri side’s captain Khozema Saifuddin in 5 overs took 4 wickets and gave 26 runs.

In reply, Shabab-Taheri’s opening batsman Baqir Sajjad(59 runs) showed outstanding performance and gave the team a stand of 80 runs, but as soon as he got out, the batsmen of Taheri gave away to the bowlers of Tayyebi. On the completion of 25 overs, score was 137 at the loss of 9 wickets. So Shabab Tayyebi won the final by 38 runs! Bowler Ali Asghar took 4 wickets for 37 runs. On his performance he was declared Man of the Match. Match was supervised by renowned test & I.C.C. panel umpire Mr. Riaz-ud-Din.

At the end the prize distribution ceremony conducted by the chief guest Janab Yahya Bhaisaheb Zakiuddin, he gave away the trophies to winner & runners’ up captain and shields to players of the tournament. Earlier a special cake was cut by the chief guest in accordance with the 96th Salgirah Mubarak, 5 gold coins were distributed among the spectators by balloting. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest expressed satisfaction on the organization of the event and praised the efforts of the organizers. On this occasion were present eminent members of the community, sponsors and cricket lovers.
